Psy-Fi is about meditating on the inner worlds of self-improvement and self-discovery. I chose to illustrate the sentiment of "shaping up." Our inner worlds inform our reality. Shapes represent ideas, the forms we wish to inhabit, and the connections between mind and body that make them real.
Mark Espinosa, a Filipino American multi/interdisciplinary artist, explores the intersections of expanded animation, music, poetry, choreography, sculpture, and sleight of hand. Weaving these forms conjures experiences where art becomes a quiet call for compassion and shared transformation. Through themes of dream, reality, and the in-between, Mark examines the subtle forces of human perception that fracture the collective, and responds with work that draws us closer.
