Mad Arts began its journey as Bad Space, a creative haven founded by Marc Aptakin that provided free studio spaces for local artists. After acquiring the former Gallery of Amazing Things in 2018, Marc rebranded the space as Mad Arts. Since then, he has been dedicated to supporting local artists by providing resources, materials, and exhibition spaces. In 2020, Mad Arts officially became a non-profit organization.
Welcome to Mad Arts: Where Art Meets Technology and Technology Meets Art
Mad Arts is a community hub and laboratory for art and technology. A non-profit organization founded in 2020, our flagship headquarters is a 50,000 square-foot space in South Florida that leads visionary exhibitions and projects by individuals, collectives, and companies.
Exploring New Models of Culture and Business
Mad Arts supports artists, creatives, and technologists with the resources of a full-service creative agency, including virtual reality studios and manufacturing facilities. Committed to educational initiatives, inclusive programming, and career development, Mad Arts is grounded in the philosophy that art and technology are tools for social good and should be made accessible.
Our Location
Located in Dania Beach, just a 10-minute drive from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and 15 minutes from Port Everglades, Mad Arts is developing a hybrid model for the 21st century. We integrate the best practices of non-profit museums, technology companies, and creative agencies. As a longtime partner of Broward County, Mad Arts is dedicated to meaningful change by fostering local development and uplifting the area’s communities.
Our Mission
Mad Arts is committed to nurturing the careers of local and international artists by supporting the development of their art and technology-driven projects. We champion the museum’s social and educational initiatives, aiming to make art and technology more accessible to a broader audience and create potential career opportunities.
Today, Mad Arts stands as a vibrant hub for artistic collaboration. We have engaged with over 100 artists and art collectives, provided venues for non-profit events and gatherings, offered rehearsal spaces for aspiring youth, and facilitated the development of internships and career guidance sessions led by industry professionals.
