The word "automaton" comes from the Greek term αὐτόματος, meaning "self-acting," "self-willed," or "self-moving." An automaton is an abstract, self-propelled computing device that follows a predetermined sequence of operations automatically.
Inspired by this concept, AUTOMATONII aims to captivate our playful and collective imaginations, evoking a sense of nostalgia and wonder. The installation combines vintage, traditional hand-drawn illustrations and animations with cutting-edge digital technology and music, creating a journey that feels both innovative and timeless.
