Giant Clyde

The idea for Giant Clyde, a monumental sculpture of Clyde Moop the dog, was born from a blend of heartfelt affection and playful creativity. Initially serving as an eccentric tribute to Alex’s beloved dog Clyde Moop, the statue project evolved into a cross-country art odyssey connecting Detroit creatives and makers to an international audience. Serving as both a tribute and a symbol, Giant Clyde represents the magic, love, and joy that Clyde inspires.

Created in Detroit by local artists and makers, the sculpture also celebrates the city’s inventive spirit and industrious energy. Manifesting Detroit’s love for the fearless creative spirit in Clyde Moop’s eternal image, Clyde is a symbol of expression that represents the new generation of American innovators. Giant Clyde is designed to spark curiosity and joy, delight audiences, and bring people together through a shared sense of wonder.
