This hands-on workshop invites participants to design and build sculptural objects that become luminous canvases for projection mapping, encouraging them to think of light itself as a sculptural material and to map narrative or poetic intent onto form. The program covers the fundamentals of projection mapping, including lenses, throw, keystoning versus true calibration, masking, and UV workflows, alongside rapid fabrication techniques for creating projection targets, such as 3D printing, laser-cutting, CNC foam or wood, and hand-built mockups. Participants will also explore system integration using media servers like MadMapper and gain practical production skills for safe projector setup, neat cabling, thorough documentation, and efficient teardown.
IMPORTANT: Before applying, participants must commit to attending the full workshop (October 24th, 25th, and 26th from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM daily) and the public presentation in MAD Yard on Saturday, November 1st, at 8 PM.

Jaime Reyes is a Venezuelan artist based in Stockholm, specializing in new media art and installations. His work is characterized by a surreal, multicultural, and nonlinear aesthetic achieved through the innovative use of diverse technologies. Reyes crafts interactive installations and subtle interventions in underutilized spaces, using light as his medium to transform how we perceive our environment.
More recently, Reyes has embraced digital minimalism by creating animations that mirror the daily rhythms of his life. These algorithm-driven works unfold on monumental scales, challenging the conventional coolness of technology with an unexpected emotional depth. Through this endless exploration of generative art, Reyes continually redefines what it means to merge creativity with technology.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Paris, Madrid, the United Kingdom, Copenhagen, New York City, and Dania Beach, establishing him as a distinct voice in the global new media art scene.
