Liz Rosenthal is the Curator of Venice Immersive, the Venice Biennale’s official XR programme at the Venice International Film Festival, and the Founder and CEO of the innovation company Power to the Pixel. She co-designed and led CreativeXR, the UK’s flagship incubator and accelerator for immersive arts and media and has producer credits for multiple award-winning titles.

At Venice, Liz was instrumental in launching Venice Immersive in 2017- the first and only official competition in an A-list festival for immersive arts. Under her curatorship, it has grown into the world’s most significant annual exhibition of immersive arts and media. She has also curated major exhibitions worldwide, including the first virtual reality exhibition in London in partnership with the BFI London Film Festival (2015), Red Sea Immersive in Saudi Arabia in (2021-2022), and Glow: Spotlight on VR (2024) - an exhibition celebrating women creators set to return to London in 2026.

As Executive Producer of CreativeXR, a partnership between Digital Catapult and Arts Council England, Liz supported the development and financing of sixty UK XR projects, many of which went on to win major international awards. Her executive producer credits include Soul Paint (2024), Maya: The Birth of a Superhero (2024), Goliath: Playing with Reality (2021), (Hi)story of a Painting (2022), Child of Empire (2020).

Through Power to the Pixel, Liz created the first ever international programmes dedicated to developing, financing and showcasing interactive and then immersive storytelling. Her acclaimed programme The Pixel Lab supported the development of over one hundred projects, while the Cross-Media Forum, run in partnership with the BFI London Film Festival for nine years, pioneered the first international financing market for interactive and immersive projects.

Liz began her career in independent film and was Head of Next Wave Films in the UK, a division of the Independent Film Channel (US). The company helped support, finance and distribute micro-budget features by talented first and second time directors including Christopher Nolan’s Following and produced and financed some of the first feature films shot and edited with digital tools. A frequent keynote speaker at major events including Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, BAFTA and TEDx, Liz serves on numerous international juries and advises many cultural organisations and funds on innovation strategy. She sits on the boards and advisory groups of Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network, Immersive Arts and the IDA Network, and is a member of BAFTA, IADAS and the Guild of Future Architects, as well as a Fellow of the RSA.
