RESHAPING IDS, CONNECTING REALITIES

RESHAPING IDS, CONNECTING REALITIES is an immersive solo exhibition by Anaisa Franco that transforms the biometric data of visitors into interactive artistic experiences. Through five participatory artworks, the exhibition playfully redefines systems of facial, iris, and fingerprint recognition, inviting audiences to connect their identities with alternative realities through technology, light, and movement.

At the entrance, SELFLEXION captures and scans the faces of the first 500 visitors, generating a playful biometric control game with automated, captured selfies.

The second artwork, EXPANDED IRIS, scans the visitor’s iris and transforms it into dynamic galaxies and nebulae. The piece explores the visual similarities between the microscopic universe of the human eye and the vast cosmos, revealing poetic parallels between the body and the universe.

In EXPANDED ID, visitors scan their fingerprints, which are then converted into colorful animated topographies. The work transforms personal identification data into fluid digital landscapes, shifting biometric information into abstract visual expression.

The exhibition also includes MUTATIONS, a series of sculptural objects produced with UV-sensitive filament. Visitors activate the material properties through light interaction, revealing hidden transformations and emphasizing the relationship between matter, perception, and participation.

Concluding the exhibition is ENTANGLEMENTS, an illuminated vortex-like installation that represents the pulsating DNA of life. The work evokes interconnectedness, energy flows, and the invisible structures that bind living systems together.

The exhibition merges interactive art, biometrics, parametric design, and new materials into a sensory exploration of identity in the digital age.

About the artist:

Anaisa Franco specializes in integrating parametric digital fabrication, new materials, and emerging technologies through playful and interactive experiences that activate the body and public space. Her works are inspired by the curved and fluid forms found in nature at both molecular and cosmic scales, reshaping the way we perceive the world and our connection to it.

Through her collaborative creative studio, she continuously prototypes new digital fabrication techniques and experiments with innovative materials and technologies for future artistic applications.

With over two decades of artistic practice, Franco has created more than 40 interactive projects exhibited internationally, including in the United States, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, and the Netherlands.
